Not far from the Brazilian city of Guarulhos is the airport of the same name. Guarulhos Airport is sometimes called Cumbica, after the area in which it is located. 25 kilometers from the airport is the central area - São Paulo.
The annual passenger turnover of Guarulhos is more than 20 million passengers and 200 thousand air flights. Guarulhos is the second busiest among freight traffic.
In the run-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Guarulhos Airport carried out massive innovations and upgrades to improve passenger comfort and speed. By 2025, the city plans to develop the airport so that it can accommodate more than 60 million passengers annually.
