Description:
The Place de la Concorde, the main town square of Český Krumlov, is located in the historic center of the city, surrounded by the winding Vltava River, which has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1992. Around the square, covered with paving stones, there are houses preserved from medieval times.
In the middle of the square stands the Plague pillar with gilded elements, erected in the early XVIII century. The column is decorated with statues of eight saints, patrons of the city and defenders from the plague. The statue of the Virgin Mary is crowned.
Another of the main attractions of the square is the Town Hall, it was formed by the merger of two old Gothic houses in the early seventeenth century. In addition, on the square there are three museums, shops, cafes, restaurants, benches for recreation and much more.
