Fortress tower
Tr i&scaron tě 2074/6, Karlovy Vary
Description:
The fortress tower is one of the oldest buildings of Karlovy Vary, perfectly preserved to our time. The tower was built on a granite rock. Previously, it was part of the royal hunting castle of Charles IV, but after a strong fire in the early seventeenth century, only the tower remained from the castle. In this regard, it is called the Castle Tower.
The tower is a rectangular building with a pyramidal roof, which is decorated with an “onion” bell tower. The tower has an exhibition and a restaurant, visiting them, before you will open a beautiful view from the windows to the surrounding area of the resort. Near the tower there are three colonnades: Market, Castle and Geyser.
