Monument to Karl Marx

Petra Velik ho 974/18, 60 01 Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic

Description:

The monument to Karl Marx is located in the most fashionable district of Kalovy Vary and is installed here for good reason: it was in Karlovy Vary that Marx was treated three times (in 1874, 1875 and 1876). As early as 1870, Friedrich Engels strongly recommended that he be treated here, but in vain. The great theorist came here only after his daughter Eleanor fell seriously ill. Marx enjoyed traveling and walking around the resort.

The monument to Marx is in the shade of trees on Peter the Great Street. It is the place at the monument that is a meeting place for tourists going from the upper part of the city to excursion tours.

Card Marx is depicted in a sitting position. His majestic gaze, as it were, covers the whole city and tells everyone about the presence of the great creator of Capital.
