Description:

In Karlovy Vary there is a monument to the Russian Tsar Peter I, which was erected in honor of the visit of the Russian Tsar to this resort town in 1711. The sculpture of the king is depicted in the form of a bust, proudly towering over the whole city.

The monument to the Russian tsar was erected on this place because it was here that he often went to pray. From the Petrine Mountain there is a beautiful view of the city, and nearby there is a fountain with the famous thermal spring. Not far from this place is a church in honor of Saints Peter and Paul, which was built on the initiative of Peter I. Also in this area there is a sanatorium, in which Peter I was treated, and later nobles came here on his example.

On the mountain, where there is a monument to the Russian tsar, you can climb by funicular or on foot.
