Orthodox Church in the Name of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul

Krá le Ji í ho 1039/2B, 360 01 Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic

Description:

The “hiking” version of the temple was located in a small building opposite the hotel “Pup”. In 1872, in honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Peter I, a large sum was collected for the construction of a new temple, but the construction began only 21 years later. The dimensions of the structure were 14 meters wide, 41 meters long and 40 meters high.

The oak iconostasis was moved from the former house church. Many ancient icons were donated by Russian emperors and empresses. Also in the temple were installed stunning stained glass with images of Christ the Savior, John Chrysostom, Basil the Great, Prince Vyacheslav and Princess Lyudmila of the Czechs.

In addition, parishioners can visit the reception room and a small library, which are located in the hall under the temple.
