Wenceslas Square

Wenceslas Square 110 00 Praha

Description:

Wenceslas Square, colloquially called Wenceslas Square, is the main center of New Place in Prague, and it is also one of the largest and most famous squares in the world. It traditionally hosts large city and state holidays, rallies and meetings.

Wenceslas Square is the heart of Prague’s trade and business centers, with the largest hotels, shops and cafes. The square was named Wenceslva in honor of Prince Wenceslas, the Czech heavenly patron. It was formerly known as the Horse Market (Koň ský trh) because there were horse fairs in the Middle Ages.

On the streets of Wenceslas Square, the National Museum finds in front of the entrance to which there is a monument to St. Wenceslas. The monument and museum are among the most recognizable symbols of Prague.
