Legends of Old Budva

Description:

On this walk you will be imbued with the charm of the mysterious streets of the Old City of Budva and begin to understand Budva people better. You will walk along the walls of the ancient city and see how easy it is to throw a lemon to your neighbor for breakfast. Take a look at the door facing the sea. And, of course, walk along the long Budva embankment, where you can taste the freshest seafood in fish restaurants.

You will see the main city attractions from the most "postcard" angles and walk through the historical part of the city. You will find yourself in the ancient city square, keeping traces of more than 2000 years of history. Immerse yourself in the rhythm of the Old City and you will be fascinated by a labyrinth of narrow streets leading to the ancient Citadel. Here you will find amazing panoramas of the Adriatic and Budva itself - the Old City as in the palm of your hand and the whole modern city, surrounded by powerful mountains.

Touch the living antiquity: right on the rock above the sea, the tiny church “Santa Maria in Punta”, which means “on the edge”), which dates back to 840, and not far from it – the ruins of an ancient basilica of the 3rd century. Here you will understand why the Old City of Budva is called the soul of the city.

Another “miracle” of Budva is the Greek gate of the Mycenaean city, located inside one of the Budva boutiques.

If you wish, you can freely look into the temples of Budva. And walk along the perimeter of the fortress walls - look into the Budva courtyards, watch them go out onto the balconies, remove dry linen and slowly drink coffee, talking with neighbors from window to window.

Leaving the Old City, you will get to the embankment with many restaurants with sea views and luxury yachts. From here you can go to St. Nicholas Island, the largest island in the Balkans. From the island there is a view of the Budva Riviera from the sea, and on the other side there are cozy beaches with picturesque, layered-cake-looking rocks.

In the tour route there will be all the most important sights, without which it is impossible to imagine the city. You will look at the city from a bird’s eye view to get a panoramic view of the tourist capital of Montenegro. You will see the ruins of the Austrian fortress on the top of the mountain, where I will take you by car (plus a 30-minute walk).

Or swim in a mountain waterfall and dine in a fish restaurant with fresh trout directly from the local farm, where there is also a menagerie for children.

If you find it difficult to change altitude, then staying at sea level, you can visit the areas of the Budva Riviera Milocer and Sveti Stefan - admire the famous hotel island or even explore the island from the inside. A walk in the park will bring true pleasure.

Who needs a tour? Someone who wants to see Budva and the surroundings as if they were shown to you by old friends.

I will show you popular local restaurants and share "passwords and appearances", which you will need for further independent exploration of the city.
