Budva

Ostrog + Mini Montenegro (Cetinje - Lovcen - Negushi - Kotor)

Description:

For those who want to see as many sights as possible in one day, I suggest combining two excursions and holding them in one day.

We leave Budva and go to Ostrog.

Ostrog Monastery is an active Orthodox male monastery. It is one of the largest religious centers in Montenegro and a popular place of pilgrimage. The monastery was founded in 1650 by St. Basil of Ostrog (in the world Stoyan Jovanovich). The monastery is built in a sheer rock at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level and currently the relics of the saint rest in the monastery. Vasily Ostrogsky is one of the most revered saints in Montenegro and Serbia. This name is associated with numerous stories of miraculous healings from diseases. The monastery consists of two parts, lower and upper. It is in the upper part (Mountain Monastery) that the most important shrines of the monastery are located. The upper part of the complex consists of two churches. These are the Exaltation of the Cross (1665) and the Introduction to the Church of the Virgin Mary (18th century). In the reliquary of the Vvedensky temple, an ark with the miraculous relics of St. Basil is kept.

Then we go back to Cetinje.

Visit the city of Cetinje - the ancient capital of Montenegro.

In the Cetinsky Monastery you will see the greatest shrines of Orthodoxy: the imperishable hand of St. John the Baptist and particles of the Life-Creating Cross of the Lord. We will visit the art gallery, where the Philermo Icon of the Mother of God (written by St. Luke) is located. Further, a trip to the national natural park Lovcen is a mountain range of unusual configuration, a masterpiece of nature, which Montenegrins consider their Olympus. At the top of the Ezernaya mountain is the mausoleum of Njegos - the lord and ruler of Montenegro of the XIX century, a poet and philosopher. Further descent to Boka Kotor, along the serpentine road, stop and photo-pause in the most beautiful place, from where you can see Tivatsky, Kotor Bay and Old Kotor from a height of 1100 meters. After Lovchen, at will, you can visit the town of Negusi - this is the native village of the Montenegrin Petrovich-Njegosha dynasty - where you can taste and purchase Negush cheese and pršut (a tin, sliced or piece). Next, a tour of Kotor with sightseeing.
