Budva

Skadar Lake, Wine Cellar and Lipa Cave

Description:

A trip to Skadar Lake is the most tireless excursion, it is suitable for families with children, lovers of nature bathing and delicious food.

Our guests from St. Petersburg

The lake covers an area of about 450 km2, the third largest in Europe and the largest in the Balkans. Its banks overgrown with reeds and water lilies are a shelter for dozens of bird species, including the curly pink pelican, which is found only here and nowhere else in the world.

Usually, all group tours are taken to the village of Virpazar, because it is closer to Budva and you can park a large bus there, but you will not see such a variety of plants, animals and birds living on the lake. Our road will lie in the opposite part of the lake - the village of the River Crnojevic.

Along the way, we often meet these "Roots" - in Serbian turtle.

We leave in the morning at 8-9 hours and climb the mountains above Budva. Photopause 10-15 minutes.

We pass the capital Cetinje and turn from the highway to a narrow path descent to the lake. Upon arrival in the village of River Crnojevica we will walk along the embankment and visit the house of the ruler of Montenegro Peter 1 Njegos. I will tell you a lot of interesting things about this name along the way.

On the shore, Captain Peggio is waiting for us, will take a boat on the lake or on a boat for large groups.

Fun tourists from Ufa

The first hour of the waterway will run along the river Crnojevica, and then we will swim into the lake and make a stop for swimming.

Along the way we will be surrounded by plantations of lilies and water lilies.

All the ladies on our small ship must receive a lily from the captain.

Amateurs will be able to capture beautiful landscapes, wild birds and animals.

Men will be able to try Skadar nut, it is called “Montenegro Viagra”

Carefully look into the nest to Carmaran - this is the most common bird on the lake.

If you take a boat for 3 hours, you can walk to the fortress “Zhablyak Crnojevica” – the first capital of Montenegro.

The Turks were great jokers, so a hole was made over the entrance to the fortress, from where the attackers were lovingly watered with boiling oil.

Returning to the shore, we will go further by car to the most famous and visible place of the lake, the observation point “Pavlova Country”

Then we go to the winery to the Shofranac family, their name has been producing wine, rakia and liqueurs for hundreds of years, so in the basements you will see many diplomas received at agricultural exhibitions. After the first place in Split in 1954, they began to supply wine to Comrade Tito himself.

Burning raki

What is important, Bozho and Nevenka Shofranac are good, kind common people working on the land and very different from the "merchants" - wine sellers on the coast. They only sell what they do and are responsible for quality.

In a good mood after tasting, we go to a nearby fish or meat restaurant of choice. Restaurants in the mountains favorably differ in price and quality of food from coastal, where everything is designed for the tourist flow.

We will try local specialists - fried eel, carp, trout, Negush prshut, "Lamb from under the sach" and much more.

All Montenegrin vineyards are located around the lake, so in any establishment you will be offered several types of homemade wine and rakia.

On the way back, we pause in the Lipa Cave. Inside, there are many stalactites and bizarre patterns on the stone walls. Do not forget to bring your jackets - the temperature in the cave around the clock plus 10 degrees.

After the cave we go back to the coast.
