St. Luke's Square

Montenegro, Kotor.

Description:

Kotor is an amazing medieval city in Montenegro. The old part of the city with old churches, narrow streets and small squares is under the protection of UNESCO. In the center of the city is St. Luke’s Square, famous for the churches that are located on it. This is the Cathedral of St. Tryphon of the XI century, the Church of St. Anna, St. Luke, St. Michael and St. Anna.

Saint Tryphon is the patron saint of the city of Cotona, which is why the cathedral dedicated to this saint is so beautiful. Also directly from St. Luke Square you can immediately get to the oldest temple of Montenegro - the Church of St. Luke. An amazing church with two altars – Orthodox and Catholic.

The very fact that it was possible to place so many temples in such a relatively small space, and the different denominations are still striking, as well as the harmony of the placement of all these buildings in St. Luke’s Square inspires respect for the creators of all this. At the same time, it seems that both the square and the temples are designed in the same style and color.
