Fort Lesandro

Fort Lesandro was built in the XVIII century and still reminds of the confrontation between Montenegro and Turkey. It served as a defense against the raids of the Turks during the reign of Peter II Njegos. By the way, the ruler often liked to rest here and even wrote some of his literary works in this fortress.

Today, the fortress is almost abandoned, but it has retained its former grandeur. Fans of the history of military battles will be very interesting to walk around the fortress, look into the loopholes and imagine what unfolded here several centuries ago.
