Big beach
Description:
The most famous place in Ulcinj is the Great Beach (Velika Plaza), which has a length of 13 km and is marked by the "Blue Flag" - a symbol of the European environmental association. With its size, it is not surprising that even in the midst of the tourist season you can always find enough free space here. This beach belongs to the largest sandy beaches of Montenegro. The smallest volcanic sand, giving the beach a dark hue, caresses the feet like a luxurious carpet. The beach receives the most sunlight as it is not covered by mountains. This sounds tempting, but there are small disadvantages: we must bear in mind that the smallest, weightless grains of sand at the slightest breeze rise into the air, penetrating everywhere, including clothing and food supplies. Due to the dark color of the sand is also very warm and in the midst of a sunny summer day to walk on it barefoot may not be very easy.
The sea here is quite shallow, and to get to a depth that allows you to swim, you will first have to walk through the shallow water several tens of meters. Everything from Ulcinj to the island of Ada Boyana is a resort place, where numerous shops, markets, restaurants and restaurants are open during the season. A special flavor of these places give noisy eastern bazaars. On the southern part of the beach there is often a strong wind and large waves. It is here that lovers of surfing and kiting come, as well as those who want to learn how to manage a yacht or a catamaran. On the beach there is a kite school with Russian instructors for all fans of kite surfing.
