Lake Grida

Montenegro, Budvanska Riviera

Description:

The lake is located on the border between Montenegro Albania and Kosovo in the town of Plav-Gusinje. Grida Lake is one of the highest lakes in the area, known as “mountain eyes” and is located at the level of 1970 m above sea level.

This lake is formed by groundwater and partially melting glaciers at the tops of the mountains, flowing into it in its western part. The water temperature in the lake does not exceed 16-18C in July and August. And the air temperature near the lake is 17-21C.

This lake is quite attractive for fishermen: it is rich in trout. So, if you decide to fish in silence and away from civilization, you will not find a better place. Since places are wild and people rarely come here, here you can often find wild animals: bears, hares, wolves, boars, etc.

You can swim in the lake. Accurate data on its depth is not available, but in the coastal zone it is about 5 m. The lake itself is small. The length of the lake is 295 m, the width is 155 m. The bottom of the lake is rocky, and the water is so clean that in individual metas you can see the bottom.

If you want to relax in a quiet and peaceful environment alone with nature, then the way to Lake Grida is the best route for you.
