Museum of Islamic Ceramics

Egypt, Giza, Zamalek District, 1 Masrafi Street

About the company:

The Museum of Islamic Ceramics was founded in 1998. It is located in the palace of Prince Amr Ibrahim, built in the 20s of the last century. This two-storey building in traditional Islamic style, surrounded by a garden, is a work of art in itself. The main hall is covered with a transparent dome decorated with wood carvings.

The museum’s collection includes more than 300 ceramic products from different historical periods (from X to XIX centuries): vases, oil lamps, dishes, cups, jugs, polished shingles.

All ceramics are made in different countries: Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Persia, Andalusia. There are works of both famous and little-known and unnamed masters.

In addition to ceramics, you can see samples of weapons, textiles, carpets, tapestries, books, glass products. The palace stones are decorated with multi-colored tiles. On the marble walls of the main hall are stained glass windows.
