Boat solar museum

Al Ahram, Nazlet El-Semman, Al Haram, Giza, Egypt

About the company:

The solar museum of the boat is located near the pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) and is presented in the form of an Egyptian boat built in life size. It is known that it was used more than 4000 years ago in the funeral activities of the Pharaoh Cheops.

This boat is completely made of cedar and is more than thirty-six meters long and almost twenty in width. The museum boat is presented in the form of a Viking ship – a high nose, stern and wide beams. The solar museum is located on two floors, on the first there are documents and photographs that relate to the restoration of the feluga and the excavation process.

On the boat there is a constant monitoring of humidity, and at the entrance to the museum visitors are invited to wear special shoes with which tourists can keep the floor of the solar boat polished.

The unusual museum is open daily from 09:00 to 16:00.
