Fanous-East reef

Fanous East Reef has several other names - "Dolphin playground", "Dolphin reef", "Reef with lighthouse". It is quite narrow, skirting the sea bay nearby Giftun Kebir. In the east there is a canal separating it from the mainland. On the edge of the canal is a real coral kingdom with three colorful towers.

This place is always quiet and peaceful, so you can enjoy the opening beauty. The underwater world is impressive: coral fish, gorgonies, turtles, stingrays of different species, pikes, barracuda, mackerel, pegasus, sea mice and even starfish. You can see small flocks of dolphins of 5-6 individuals.

You can get to the reef from Hurghada by bus or taxi. But it is better to join an organized tour. The journey will take about an hour.
