Taba

Gulf of Aqaba

Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Eilat

Description:

The Gulf of Aqaba divides the Arabian and Sinai peninsulas and connects to the Red Sea. The name means “passage” from Arabic. It is really at the junction between Europe and Africa. Several countries have access to it – Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel. The bay is 175 km long and 29 km wide. Aqaba is located in the desert, around the mountains rise. The water in the bay is salty, with a temperature not lower than 22 degrees. Amazing corals grow here, and the zone itself is declared protected.

On the Egyptian side on the shore of the bay is the resort town of Taba, where divers from all over the world come to plunge into the underwater world. Here is the Shark Reef and Picasso Reef. You can see the underwater kingdom with the help of the waterpost. This is a capsule in which people descend from the ship to the bottom and observe the life of the reef. The entire coast of the bay keeps evidence of ancient history - architectural monuments of different periods.

You can get from Hurghada by bus, taxi, rented car or use the excursion transfer.
