Pärnu Bay
Description:
Pärnu Bay is the northeastern part of the larger Gulf of Riga of the Baltic Sea, off the coast of Estonia. Several rivers flow into the bay, the largest of which is the Pärnu River. On the bay there is also a port city of the same name.
The bay enters the land for 30 kilometers, the width at the entrance is 20 kilometers, the depth is from 4 to 10 meters. As in other places of the Gulf of Riga, the shores are low-lying, sometimes sandy. The water warms up to 18°C in summer and is suitable for swimming.
It is considered an ideal place for children to bathe, as the sea is shallow and warms quickly due to its openness from the south. For swimming, both city beaches of Pärnu and country beaches are adapted.
