About the company:
The Artillery Museum of Finland, located in Hämeenlinna, Finland, is a private military history museum.
The museum was founded in 1977 in the village of Niinisalo, near the artillery garrison, and housed an empty elementary school.
In 1995, due to the small number of visitors, it was decided to move the museum to a more prominent place, and with the help of volunteers in the city of Hämeenlinna, the old barracks were renovated, where the Artillery Museum was opened on May 12, 1997, which since May 2013 has been called the “Museum of Militaria”.
The main exposition is located in the three-storey building of the museum. The first floor is dedicated to the artillery history of the country from the XV century to the time of the Civil War in Finland. Here is the Hall of Fame for the Fatherland.
On the second floor there are expositions that tell about the history of Finland from the beginning of its independence to the end of World War II.
The third floor displays the history of Finnish artillery from the end of World War II to the 2000s.
On the site of the former stable there is an exhibition hall of artillery guns. In the hall there is a collection of about thirty historically valuable guns.
The museum courtyard has an exposition of about a hundred different guns.
