Art Nouveau castles
Description:
Although Finland has never been a kingdom, it still has its own kings – the “kings of Finnish modernity”.
During this tour we will get acquainted with the magnificent creations of Finnish architecture of the late XIX - early XX century.
We will visit the suburbs of Helsinki - the cities of Kirkkonummi and Espoo. We will see three fabulous castles built by three best friends and the most eminent architects - Geselius - Lindgren - Saarinen.
We will look into the castle-estate "White Lake" and admire its unique interior decoration - a lot of colored glass, painting walls and colonnades in the style of national romanticism, unique furniture, textiles, lighting, copper decorations for fireplaces.
We will visit the castle with a plush atmosphere. And we will see the “real” fortress in the Art Nouveau style – one of the unknown works of famous architects.
We will also see unique, miraculously preserved, wooden railway stations in the Art Nouveau style.
And, of course, we are waiting for magnificent Finnish nature and many love stories, which can envy any soap opera.
