Glims Estate Museum

Glimsintie 1, Espoo, Finland

About the company:

Museum-estate "Glims", located on the territory of the former peasant estate Glims in the village of Karvasmäki in the Finnish city of Espoo, was opened in 1958.

The first owner of the estate, located near the Royal Road, with an inn, was Nielsen Peder. Then there was the residence of the lensman, a policeman here. From 1800 to 1949, the estate belonged to the Lennberg family, who gave the house to the local authorities, who made it a museum-estate. Until the beginning of the XX century, Glims remained an active farm.

The museum exposition of 11 buildings, the oldest of which belong to the XVII century, introduces visitors to the history of the life of local peasants in the Middle Ages.

Currently, depending on the season, the museum hosts literary readings, performances of musical groups and festivals of local crafts.
