The Unknown Good Fairy of Helsinki
Description:
More recently, photography was not as popular as portraits. One of the most famous portrait painters of the 19th century was a Russian painter, V. I. Gau, a court portrait painter who worked in this genre for more than 30 years. His amazing watercolor portraits admire their skill, tenderness, lightness and truthfulness.
One of the most famous portraits was the image of Aurora Demidova (Ur. Shernval). Who is she, Aurora Schernval, a woman admired by both young and not quite young cavaliers not only of the St. Petersburg world, but also of many European courts. Hopelessly in love Baratynsky, admiring her beauty Pushkin, counts and princes, the rulers admired the beauty of the “Northern Aurora”, and ordinary people the good temper of their “good fairy Finland”.
A woman of extraordinary destiny who has done so much, a pioneer of charity work in Russia and Finland, and so undeservedly forgotten.
With the life of Aurora we will introduce you on a tour dedicated to the memory of this extraordinary woman of the 19th century, our goddess of the Northern dawn and the good fairy Helsinki.
