Esplanade Street
Description:
Buildings closer to the sea (Trade Square) were built at the beginning of the XIX century, but as you move away from the sea, the style changes – from the Empire to the Art Nouveau, just as fashionable architectural styles changed during the last century. At the end of the boulevard are buildings built in the early 20th century.
On the boulevard itself there are several interesting sculptures, a number of which are opened by the “Sea nymph”, put on the Trade Square in 1908.
The esplanade and the surrounding neighborhoods are the heart of Helsinki and a place where city celebrations, processions and parades take place.
On the Esplanade are expensive shops and hotels several exchange offices, where without any problems change including Russian rubles.
There are always a lot of people walking around. You can sit and lie on the lawns when hunting.
