House-Museum of the poet Johan Runeberg
Finland, Helsinki, Alexandersgaten, home. 3.
About the company:
The house-museum of the poet Johan Runeberg in Helsinki attracts the attention of philologists, historians, writers and journalists from all over the world. After all, the great poet lived and worked here in the last years of his life, whose pen belongs to the anthem of the Finnish people, which can still be heard at official ceremonies and sports events.
An ordinary wooden house, located along Alexandersgaten, preserved the spirit of the time when the owner himself lived here. Household items, furniture, personal belongings of the poet’s family are all authentic, and therefore even more valuable.
The Runeberg family moved often, but they lived in this house for more years than anywhere else. A person’s workplace itself tells about his master – you look at him and imagine how Johan Runeberg sat here, thought, wrote. Constant creative search, the flight of thought, and words, words, words... Words that were put together in wonderful works, now known all over the world. Perhaps that is why there is a special atmosphere here: it feels like a truly creative person.
