Kiasma Museum
About the company:
The Kiasma Museum of Modern Art is one of the most visited museums in Finland. The Kiasma Museum belongs to the Finnish National Gallery together with the Ateneum Art Museum. The museum was opened on September 1, 1990.
At first, it was located in a temporary premises, and then moved to the building of the Ateneum Museum, where it was located until the spring of 1998, and in 1996 the premises for the Museum of Modern Art were built.
The museum was designed by American architect Stephen Hall. The building amazes others with its novelty in architecture and design, as well as these wonderful transparent ceilings, ramps, inclined walls are striking. The museum has 25 galleries featuring contemporary art dating back to the 1960s.
In addition to traditional types of fine art, visitors are also offered video installations, spatial works, photo works, media art. In "Kiasme" there are about 4000 exhibits. It should be noted that along with the permanent exhibitions, exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art - both Finnish and foreign - are regularly held.
The museum itself is very diverse, guest musicians, dramatic and dance troupes perform.
For tourists, I can not stress enough that on Fridays from 17.00 to 20.30 the entrance to the museum is completely free.
