Military Museum of Finland in Helsinki

Liisankatu 1, Helsinki, Finland

About the company:

The Military Museum of Finland was opened in 1929 in Helsinki in the building of the military garrison, which was built in 1883. After that, just four years later, the museum left the area of Kruununhaku and is located in the Suomenlinne area, which is known for the fact that on its territory there is a submarine called Vesikko. This boat is known for its participation in events that developed near the Gulf of Finland during wartime. But the museum stayed in Suomenlinna for no more than fifteen years, then it returned to the same garrison building where it is now.

Exhibits of the Helsinki Military Museum most fully describe the weapons of Finland, from what was in the seventeenth century to what is now used by the military of the country. In total, there are about 200 thousand exhibits in this museum, which include: photos and documents specially taken from the archives, and, of course, a large number of samples of weapons, from which you just run your eyes. The museum is now part of the National Defense University.
