Salamayarvi Park

Koirasalmentie 272, Perho, Finland

Description:

Salamajärvi Park is a national park in Central Finland located near the town of Perjo between Lake Kivipa and Tjelampi. On its territory live two very rare species of wild animals that remained in Finland - this wolverine and forest reindeer, bred by herders of the northern part of the country. Also, the area of the national park is covered with swampy meadows, many interesting trails on which you can meet various species of ordinary and northern birds.

The world of flora and fauna in these wild expanses continues to develop and quietly exist without human intervention. Clean lakes are rich in fish species such as whitefish, trout and harius, which like to hide in reeds. The swamps are usually inhabited by cranes, turuchtans, large snails, backas, ducks, as well as the national birds of Finland - swans. Often people living near the park visit it to mow fresh grass. Sometimes on its territory there are tar pits and baths of kosars, and in order to preserve nature for tourists, bonfire sites with harvested firewood were created.
