Verla Factory Museum
Verlan tehdasmuseo, Verlantie 295, 47850 Verla, Finland
About the company:
Verla is an industrial village in the South of Finland, famous for its unique attraction - the wood processing factory-museum "Verla". A picturesque village and a World Heritage Site, the Cardboard Factory, are located in the valley of the Kyumi River, on its northern side. From the center of Kouvola to Verla about 30 kilometers.
The factory was opened in 1972 as the country’s first industrial museum. Later, in 1996, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. To date, ensembles of factory buildings, as well as production machines have been preserved in their original form. The unique atmosphere of Verla is created thanks to these buildings and houses of workers on the Stremnina. At the factory you can learn an interesting history of the origin of the Finnish forest industry. In summer there are workshops in the former stables, as well as retail shops.
