Cultarant Park

Finland, Naantali., Nearby cities: Turku, Uppsala, Stockholm

Description:

To create a garden and park ensemble, Cordelin attracted the best specialists of the country. The total area of the estate is 54 hectares, of which 16 hectares are occupied by the park.

The entire territory is divided into several zones, which are organically connected with each other and inscribed in the surrounding landscape. A huge lawn, the area of which is 6 hectares, combines individual finished garden compositions into a single space. The lawn, as it were, is laid in front of a castle rising in the distance and focusing attention on itself. In the center of the landscape composition there is a regular garden in which sheared spruces form high walls of green rooms, and also protect plants from the winds from the sea.

In the courtyard in front of the castle there is a small garden, where tourists and ordinary citizens are not allowed in the summer. There are two reservoirs of rectangular shape, from where, along an almost natural winding channel, a stream flows down next to a granite staircase.

There are only 3 small sculptures throughout the territory, one of which in the form of a granite ball forms the center of the rose garden called "Medalon".
