University of Oulu Botanical Garden
Description:
The Botanical Garden of the University of Oulu is a unique place where under the glass pyramids come to life Romeo 16 meters high and Juliet 14 meters. It was in honor of Shakespeare’s heroes that the botanical pyramids at the university were named.
In the heart of Romeo are plants of wet subtropics - banana and coconut palms, lianas, coffee trees, cocoa trees.
In the greenhouse Juliet grow citrus, olive, myrtle trees.
Around the greenhouses there is an arboretum, numbering more than 4,000 specimens of trees and shrubs. And the garden itself is located on the shore of Lake Kuivasjärvi, which makes this place even more attractive not only from a scientific point of view.
