Kierikki Museum

Pahkalantie 447 A, 91200 Yli-Ii Finland

About the company:

The Kierikki Museum is located in the vicinity of Oulu, Finland. The museum is dedicated to the Stone Age and the life of the Finns at that time. Already in the IV millennium BC, the first settled settlements of people appeared in Kierikki, the main trade of which was hunting seals.

The Kierikki Museum was opened in September 2001. The second name of the museum is the Stone Age Center. The building of the Center is a log structure, which is the largest of its kind. Not far from the center is the Stone Age Village, which clearly demonstrates how ancient people lived. At the shooting range, you can try to learn to shoot from prehistoric bows, and in the workshop you can see how arrowheads were made in the Stone Age, as well as feel like a master and make a souvenir for memory with your own hands.

The Stone Age Center provides everything necessary for the comfort of its customers: a hotel, a restaurant and even a conference room. And in the souvenir shop of the museum you can buy unique handmade products, which are made in prehistoric style.

The Stone Age center of Kierikki has been awarded many national and international awards and prizes.
