Pory Art Museum

Selim Palmgreninkatu 1, 28100 Pori, Finland

About the company:

The Pori Art Museum, located in the Finnish city of the same name, on the embankment of the Kokemäenjoki River, was founded in the early XX century by Professor Mayre Gullicen, the founder of Finnish design. It occupies a one-story white-stone building of the former weight and packaging city, which was built in 1858 in the Neo-Renaissance style.

The main part of the museum collection consists of works of Finnish art of the XX century. The expositions acquaint visitors with the work of Finnish artists of the postwar period and the influence of world culture on it. The museum also hosts thematic exhibitions of contemporary artists from around the world. An interesting exhibition is an exhibition of ceramic figurines made by museum visitors in the workshop working in the courtyard.
