Description:

Porvoonjoki is a small river in southern Finland. It originates on the southern slope of the Salpausselkä mountain range, flows through several districts of the city of Porvoo and flows into the Gulf of Finland. The river has several sources – Lahti, Askola and Karkola. The length of Porvoonjoki is 143 km and the area of the water basin is 1,271 km2. In the valley of the river there are magnificent farmland and beautiful cliffs with snow peaks, which gives it a special charm and makes the local scenery one of the most beautiful in Finland. On the right bank of Porvoonjoki there are several small houses for recreation, which annually attract thousands of tourists who want to enjoy unusually clean air and relax from the bustle of the city.
