Lutheran Church
Rovaniemi, Rauhankatu, 70. Suomi
Description:
The Lutheran Church is visible from almost any street of the city, because its spire with a cross reaches 54 meters.
Despite the fact that this place is sacred and earlier there was also erected another church, which was destroyed during the war, here, starting from the entrance to the church, there is a memorial stone of the previous shrine, as well as in the courtyard there are two monuments in honor of the fighters for independence in the early twentieth century, and the heroes bravely fighting during the Second World War, who gave their lives for the sake of peace on Finnish soil.
Symbolic is the “Source of Life”, a 14-meter altar fresco that adorns the interior of the church.
