Ski resort Hand

Rukatunturintie 1, Ruka

About the company:

The ski resort of Ruka is one of the largest and most visited in Lapland. Located just south of the Arctic Circle, the Hand ski resort has the title of Golden Gate of Lapland, which is quite symbolic. If the ski resorts of Central and Southern Finland are built on hills and small hills, then the resort of Ruka is already real mountains up to 493 meters above sea level.

The ski resort of Hand opens first, sparing no artificial snow, and closes one of the last. The season begins in October and lasts 200-250 days a year. The start of the 2012-2013 season was frosty and snowy, the first Hand lifts were launched on October 23, 2012. The resort promises that the ski slopes will be open until June 9, 2013.

Slalom and freestyle championships are held in Hand, the Nordic Opening World Cup stage is held. It annually hosts the Finnish ski championships and trains athletes of the Finnish national team. Another important bonus of the resort is the presence of a spa area, a sports center, bowling and other entertainment (dog and deer sled safaris, snowmobile safaris, snowshoe walks, winter karting, ice fishing, winter golf, saunas and hole swimming).
