Lauri Viita is one of the most widely read Finnish writers. He grew up in a working-class family, and all his work is somehow in touch with the fate of the working class in Finland. The most famous work of the writer is the novel Morena, published in 1950, which tells about the difficult life of a working family in the early XX century.
