The Amuri Working Quarter Museum

Satakunnankatu 49, 33101 Tampere

About the company:

The Amuri Working Quarter Museum is the oldest attraction in the city of Tampere. It was founded in 1779. Initially, Amuri was not a museum, it housed houses and outbuildings of workers. However, at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries, wooden houses began to be used as an open-air museum.

The atmosphere of working life is maintained in the Amuri quarter until now. There is still a shoe shop, a paper shop and a bakery. All products are made strictly according to ancient technologies and will satisfy the most demanding traveler.

The wooden houses of the museum are remarkable for their interior decoration. Especially amazing is the general kitchen, designed for 4 families at once. There were four separate fireplaces, this design allowed each family to use the kitchen in a timely manner and provide themselves with the necessary food.
