Vaasa Open Air Museum
About the company:
The open-air museum, located in Vaasa, Finland, was organized in the 1920s and 1930s and is a complex of a dozen rural dwellings built in the nineteenth century and intended for various needs.
The main building is a wooden farmhouse-cottage of the early XIX century, consists of a large room, study, hallway and storeroom. Its interior recreates the features of the Oshobothnian (owned by the indigenous Finns) house with magnificent decorations.
On the territory of the museum there are stables, haywalk, carriage yard, attic and sheds. You can also see the mill and the forge here. Of particular interest is the Finnish bath, heated in black. In those days in the bath not only washed, but also stored meat and processed flax and hemp. On the beach near the museum is a labyrinth of stones "Witch Circle". The owners of the complex offer the visitor everything you need for traditional Finnish fishing.
