Temple Neuf Church
Description:
Temple Neuf Church is a landmark of the city of Metz, and more specifically - the south-western part of the island of Petit Susi.
The Protestant temple was built in 1903 by German architect Konrad Wang in the neo-romantic style. The prototype of the temple was the Romanesque Speyer Cathedral, which was the tomb of German-Roman emperors. As the main building material, Van identified gloomy-gray Vosges sandstone. The church was consecrated in 1904. During the consecration of the church, Kaiser Wilhelm II himself was present.
Near the church there is a cozy garden - a great place for walking. In front of the church is Komedi Square with the building of the theater, at the foot of which during the Revolution was placed the guillotine.
This church is now in operation. Local Protestants continually gather here.
