Greater Berlin, sightseeing tour with a car

The concept of “Greater Berlin” appeared less than a hundred years ago, while the history of the city dates back almost eight centuries. From a small trading settlement to the capital of a united country, it is a long journey full of facts and events.

There are many special features of Berlin. For example, there are not one, not two, but three city centers at once – historical, Western and Potsdamer Square. This is due both to the history of the city’s repeated expansion and to the aftermath of World War II and the presence of a political wall for almost thirty years. After the unification of the city became much more diverse, because in Berlin today you can find two zoos, two state libraries, three operas, almost 170 museums, 2,500 parks and squares. And this is not a complete list of Berlin virtues.

Berlin is both old and young, as it undergoes a continuous process of transformation. It skillfully and carefully preserves its past, openly demonstrates an objective attitude to its complex history and can rightfully be called a city of the XXI century.
