Berlin night lights
Description:
Every city is transformed by darkness. Especially today, when the capitals of the world compete with each other in the art of lighting. Some people think that Berlin is even more beautiful in the evening light than in the daytime. Whether it’s true or not, you’ll find out on the tour. But, in any case, you will appreciate the obvious advantages of our walk - no noise, traffic jams and crowds of tourists. Even the sound of your own footsteps and sliding tires on the asphalt will not distract you from meeting the city. You will feel alone with Berlin.
This tour can be both pedestrian and car. Sometimes this walk is ordered in addition to everything you see, and sometimes it starts with it, so as not to lose the first evening in Berlin. Both are the right decision. You will not regret seeing Berlin from this side.
If we move on foot, we focus on pedestrian areas and old, royal Berlin – because historic buildings in modern lighting are transformed magically and unrecognizably. If we go by car, we will visit different parts of the city, from the center of West Berlin to the center of the East. We will see avenues flooded with the light of thousands of powerful lamps, and small streets illuminated by lanterns of various shades - after all, gas lamps, fluorescent lamps, and modern energy-saving lamps of "warm" colors are used in Berlin.
If you and I have already wandered around Berlin, you will hear from me everything that I did not say this afternoon. (I always have some fascinating stories that I keep in reserve.) If you are walking around the city for the first time, then the information content of this tour will not differ from the “day”.
Whatever you choose, you will certainly see the main characters of Berlin: the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the Residence of the Federal Chancellor, the TV Tower at Alexanderplatz, the Cathedral, the Old Museum, the Gendarme Market Square, Bebel Square and the Sony Center. They all have spectacular lighting. But in order to see the light-drenched Kurfustendamm, the glowing blue Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church or the futuristically illuminated O2-World (the largest concert and sports arena in Berlin) – you will need a car.
Of course, it is at night that one should watch the famous Speer lanterns – the only thing left of Hitler’s plan for the complete reconstruction of Berlin. It is at night that the most spectacular memorial to burned books in Bebel Square, because during the day it is poorly visible.
But walking along the abandoned fragment of the Berlin Wall near the Topography of Terror or crossing the stone field of the Holocaust memorial is not for the faint of heart. However, if desired, you can include this impression in the route.
The lights of Berlin will light up for you. And I will help you swim in this “sea of lights” and get a vivid impression.
