Around Berlin by bicycle
Description:
Berlin has more bikes than Amsterdam, the European cycling capital. Most Berlin parks and some streets have bike lanes - the closer to the city border, the more there are. However, in the city center, where most of the historical monuments are located, I, being a cyclist is not too experienced, do not venture to travel by bicycle - I have to regularly go to the roadway, and go next to the clumsy growling trucks carrying building materials to one of the many city buildings, I am psychologically uncomfortable. Although many, I must say, calmly go, and nothing. Alive:-
But just outside the city border of Berlin begins another federal state - Brandenburg. The far and near surroundings of Berlin – lakes, mixed forests, gentle hills, small neat villages with churches of various granite boulders, linden alleys, apple trees and plums along the roadsides, ancient towns with real medieval castles and, of course, the most picturesque palaces and parks of Potsdam – are perfectly adapted for cycling tourism. Cycling routes do not intersect with motorways and highways, you ride on quiet dirt and trampled forest roads, oncoming cyclists – locals and visitors – wave their hands welcomingly (don’t forget to wave in return!), and the only trouble that can happen to you is a root sticking out of the ground and, as a result, a deflated chain. But this, as you know, is a fixable matter.
Attention: the tour is carried out depending on weather conditions and only in the warm season - from April to the end of October.
