Berlin

Third Reich from within. Car tour. 3-5 hours

Description:

Traces of the Third Reich are still present in almost every corner of the city. They can be strange concrete structures that have no sense at first glance, bunkers that have become museums and even residential buildings, wells leading to the system of underground tunnels, luxury villas, modest tablets, monuments and much more.

We will see such colossi of Hitler’s capital as the Olympic Stadium of 1936, the Imperial Ministry of Aviation of Goering and Tempelhof Airport, all of which were at that time the largest buildings in the world.

Driving along the famous shopping boulevard Kurfürstendamm, we will talk about the events of Kristallnacht, when glass from broken windows crunched underfoot, about the work of the department “Palestine” and about the priestesses of love Walter Schellenberg.

In the elite district of Grunevald, we will see the villas of Admiral Canaris and Foreign Minister Ribbentrop, stop at the houses of Jewish magnates and visit the station from where 56,000 people were sent to the Ghetto and concentration camps.

In the courtyard of the Wehrmacht command building, we recall the daring Valkyrie plan and find out why the oath in the German army is taken on July 20.

We will definitely visit the Wilhelmstrasse “street of power”, where Hitler’s policy was formalized in numerous ministries, where the Reich Chancellery was located and where the Fuehrer’s bunker is still hidden. We will also see one of the few remaining bunkers, the scene of the dramatic events of the last days of the war. At your request, you can visit the Hitler Museum, which presents the entire life of a dictator from infancy to the last minutes of life.

On May 2, 1945, Marshal Chuikov and General Weidling signed a document on the unconditional surrender of Berlin. What happened on the streets in the spring of 1945? On our tour we will definitely visit one of the monuments to the Warrior Liberator.

On the night of May 8-9, the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany was signed in the building of the sapper school of the Karlhorst district. Let’s talk about the fate of General Susloparov, why the document does not have Eisenhower’s signature, and how many capitulations Nazi Germany had.

The capture of the Reichstag became a symbol of victory in this terrible war. How many red flags did it have on its walls? Is it true that Zhukov’s plane was stolen and where Borman was found in 1972? I will tell you all about this on our tour.
