Friedrichswerder Church

Werderscher Markt 1, 10117 Berlin, Germany

Description:

To be the first church built in the neo-Gothic style, the honor of the Friedrichswerder Church, which is located in Berlin, fell. Paradoxically, it was erected by an architect who was a master in the neoclassical architectural style. One way or another, today the church towers monumentally above the city, striking with its beauty.

The interior and interior decoration of Friedrichswerder have been preserved to this day in its original form. In the nave of the church there are still original sculptures of famous masters and stuffed works by Immanuel Kant and Johann Goethe.

The interior of the church corresponds to the Gothic canons, everywhere narrow elongated windows with stained glass, vaulted ceilings with arches, and the abundance of sculptures is transferred from the facade to the inside, which creates a rich appearance and idea of a person and his place in life, the world, culture.
