Chinese Garden in Berlin Gardens of Peace

Eisenacher Straß e 99 12685 Berlin, Deutschland

Description:

In Berlin, in the Marzahn area, on the site of a former agricultural exhibition a few years ago, a huge recreation park was opened, called the Gardens of Peace. They are small areas of traditional landscape design of different countries. For their creation, famous garden specialists were invited, who created a small window to another country on the territory of Berlin. One of the most beautiful places is the Chinese Garden.

The first was the Garden of the Reborn Moon, which became a symbol of friendship between Germany and China. It took several years to create. Guest designers of the Beijing Institute of Classical Garden Architecture diligently transported all the necessary materials and plants from their home country. It was not until 2000 that all work was completed. The result is the largest Chinese garden in Europe, which occupies 2.7 hectares.

The garden is modeled after the North Chinese scientist’s garden and is distinguished by its simplicity and use of three colors – gray, white and red. In the center of the garden is a large lake surrounded by green hills and bridges. It has several islets on which pagodas stand and several elegant stone lanterns are installed. In addition, several streams flow through the garden, which merge into a large noisy waterfall.
