Lake Kachliner

Triftstrase, Benz, Germany

Description:

Lake Kachliner is located on the island of Uzedom, in the southwestern district of Thurbruchs, Germany. The drainage ditch of Lake Kahliner was built in 1750. The lake has an area of about 100 hectares, and its depth is on average 1.5 meters. To the southwest of the lake is the village of Dargener Kachlin.

The water level of Lake Kahliner is largely regulated by pumping stations. During low precipitation, the lake is threatened because all water drains into the ditches surrounding it. The shallow water areas are the meeting place of numerous waterfowl, which is of considerable interest to ornithologists.
