Berlin

Lake Kliner-Wanze

Kleiner Wannsee, 14109 Berlin, Germany

Description:

We say Berlin, we mean beautiful nature. In the capital of Germany, there are more than two hundred and fifty garden complexes, almost a fifth of the territory is covered with forest. Walking on a warm summer evening in Grunevald or wandering through the Gardens of Peace in Marzahn, admiring the waterfall in Victoria Park in Kreuzberg, boating on Lake Muggelse or swimming in Schlachtensee, it is so easy to forget that you are in a metropolis of almost three and a half million inhabitants. Berlin is a very green city. Berlin has eight lakes located within the city’s transport network. And this number attracts many tourists, both from Berlin itself and from neighboring regions.

Lake Kleiner-Wanse is located in the eastern part of Berlin, in the southern part of the Steglitz-Zelendorf district, and is an integral part of the Gribnitz Canal. The lake connects the lakes Groser-Vanze and Polese. Water flows from the Telt Canal through Kliner-Wanze to Groser-Wanze.

On the shore of the lake is the grave of the German playwright, poet and prose writer Heinrich von Kleist. Also on the shore of the lake there are numerous sports associations for academic rowing.
