The area of the lake exceeds 7.4 square kilometers. The maximum depth of the lake does not exceed eight meters, the greatest length is about 4 kilometers, and the width is about 2.6 kilometers. Near Lake Muggelse, on the south side, is the highest point of Berlin, whose height is 115 meters.

"Big" Muggelse was called in order to distinguish him from the "neighbor" - Small Muggelse. It is a lake that has an area of only 0.16 square kilometers.

Lake Muggelse for residents of the eastern part of Berlin is a very popular place for leisure and recreation. In 1961, the Muggelturm Tower was built on the Small Müggelze, from which you can observe not only the insanely beautiful lake and the forests adjacent to it, but also the silhouettes of Berlin’s skyscrapers.
