Passau Old Town Hall
Schrottgasse 8, Passau, Germany
Description:
On the banks of the Danube in the XIV-XV centuries, the Old Town Hall of Passau was built. Its characteristic feature is the tower height of 28 meters, erected in 1892 on the site of an earlier structure, destroyed in the early XIX century. The tower chimes are heard several times a day.
The facade of the building is decorated with images of Emperor Ludwig IV and the Archbishops of Passau. A museum is open in the Town Hall building. The paintings in the Great Hall of the Old Town Hall depict historical scenes of Passau painted by Ferdinand Wagner in the XIX century.
